The map is he route taken by Vinny and the guys. The journey would normally take just over two hours. This map also shows the relative distance from Liverpool, North Wales, the island of Anglesey and Ireland. Wicklow is about one hour south of Dublin.
The Runcorn Bridge
Opened in 1961 Vinny is about drive over this bridge when he takes a drink of John’s vodka. The Bridge crosses both the river Mersey, and the Manchester ship canal. A new toll bridge was opened in 2017.

Our lady of the Sea and Saint Winefrede.
This is the roman catholic church in Amlwch where Kevin and Susan have a short walk. The design is from the 1930s and is based on an upturned ship, unusually it is constructed from cast concrete. Its design is to pay tribute to the maritime heritage of Amwlch which is situated on the Anglesey coast. The star shaped window above the entrance is in reference to Our lady Star of the Seaone of Mary’s titles. The parabolic arches and portholes continue the theme. If you are lucky enough to get access the church really does feel special from inside.

Amlwch Harbour
Where Kevin and Vinny have their ‘moment’. Apart from its own small fishing fleet Amlych was a commercial port regularly hosting coasters and ships from many countries who came for the Copper that was mined on Parys Mountain. It was also home to a considerable shipbuilding industry for such a small town. The harbour today is mainly home to pleasure boats.
